Railway Hotel - Motel
The Railway Hotel was constructed on Gray Street in 1912. This was a stone building which still forms the bottom story of the current premises. The second story was added in the 1930’s, and major modifications to the appearance of the building took place in the 1960’s and 1980’s. For decades the Railway Hotel has been a significant social centre to the town, outlasting all the other hotels of the boom times to be “the Last Man Standing” and as a poignant reminder of times now long past, a substantial symbol of the heritage of Mullewa.
The Railway Hotel Mullewa provides clean and comfortable accommodation with choice of either Motel units with private ensuite or Hotel rooms upstairs with shared bathrooms and pressed ceilings which are reminiscent of yesteryear.
Whether you come in for a quiet cold beer, a group celebration or staying for a night or two you will enjoy quality, tasty food and our old-fashioned service “with a smile”. The location is central and with the traveller in mind, the Hotel has a warm and airy ambiance.
Inspirations Mullewa is a newly renovated hotel that is owned and operated by MEEDAC (Midwest Employment and Economic Development Aboriginal Corporation), an organisation which aims to create meaningful employment and training opportunities for local Indigenous people. They provide high quality services in accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
